Our influence on the ocean state
Nowadays, the ocean pollution issue is actively gaining momentum, and we are forced to deal with it every day. Thousands of tons of household waste amount fall into various water bodies and oceans. We started to search for a solution to the current issues and finally managed to find out it since World Waters pollution is both our company’s and whole world’s priority issues.
While cooperating with our partners, together we introduced a new technology, intended to resolve the current issue. We launched our first Pacific plastic garbage collection system, has got the same name, which was immediately sent to the Great Pacific garbage patch.
It is a 600-meter flexible beam «float, » having got U Latin letter from. It is equipped with a three-meter underwater chain, moving freely in the water and collecting various rubbish types along the way, hereby forming clusters, that will able them to be lifted and transported by accompanying vessels.
The current latest technology has made it possible to make a leap in the current area, minimize costs, and automate the garbage and waste collecting process, being both an important success and victory.
The current statistics and situation in the region
Both the cities number and the dumped waste amount in the oceans are growing. Even such a large natural resource can’t recycle so much waste.
Civilization development resulted in the oceans pollution growth. The situation began to worsen around the middle of the twentieth century due to chemical and oil refining industries' development.
Garbage, and especially plastic, which almost does not decompose, became a huge oceans' ecology issue. Millions of tons of plastic waste drift along the ocean’s surface, and80% of this garbage fell into the ocean from land, and just 20% was dumped or washed off ships, according to the experts.
USA, France, Chile, Australia, and New Zealand researchers have estimated 5.25 trillion plastic objects in the seas and oceans – the current garbage weight is about 270 thousand tons. It relates to only waste, floating on the water surface.
Garbage harms over 250 species of marine animals and birds while filling the water with the toxic substances. The garbage, thrown into the ocean, forms the real floating continents, the most famous of which is the Pacific trash spot, which can be seen even from the International Space Station. This is a giant garbage collection in the North Pacific. The spot area is at least 700 thousand square kilometers, according to the most optimistic estimates. Germany’s land mass can be placed two times in this current spot.
Radioactive waste is one of the most critical ocean issues. Nowadays, there are so many radioactive substances in the World Ocean, that they would be enough for 30 (!) Chernobyls, according to the research estimates.
